GROVE DINING TABLE

2 September 2025

CONCEPT

The Grove Dining Table takes inspiration from a green upbringing: a family home surrounded by gardens, a leafy neighborhood, and an orchard right next door. This everyday closeness to nature shaped the idea of a table that feels open, welcoming, and rooted in its environment. Built from slender ash wood slats in a sandwich construction, the table combines strength with lightness, offering structure without dominating the room. It is designed as a piece that naturally brings people together — for meals, conversations, or shared moments — always with space for everyone.

SURROUNDINGS

The table design connects directly to its new setting: a sustainable, future-proof family home in The Netherlands. Just as the orchard brought order and rhythm to the landscape, the table shapes the social heart of the house. Measuring 220 by 80 cm, it generously accommodates more than eight people, becoming the central point for dining, gathering, and celebrating. The grid underneath the tabletop not only provides structural strength but also marks the rhythm of the seating arrangement — a subtle nod to both function and design clarity.

FAMILY

At its core, the Grove Dining Table is about connection. It is designed as a place where family can gather, share meals, and engage in daily rituals. Whether it’s long dinners, lively conversations, board games, or creative activities, the table becomes the natural stage for togetherness. Its structure ensures that there is always room for everyone, echoing the openness of the orchard and the welcoming character of the household.

CRAFTSMANSHIP

Every detail of the Grove Dining Table is crafted with purpose. The base is built from narrow ash wood planks in a sandwich principle, creating lightness and resilience in one gesture. The underside reveals a grid that is both functional and visually refined, a structural rhythm that recalls orchard rows and wooden crates. On top rests a matte brown linoleum surface – soft to the touch, kind to cutlery and plates, and subtly improving the acoustics of the dining space, allowing conversations to flow more easily.

The table is produced by a regional woodworking atelier, ensuring local craftsmanship and quality. Using sustainably sourced European FSC-certified ash, each piece is carefully shaped and assembled before being finished with Osmo matte oils. This treatment not only enhances the natural beauty of the wood but also provides long-lasting protection, resulting in a durable and elegant surface. Honest materials, meticulous construction, and sustainable finishing make this table more than furniture: it is a centerpiece of family life, built to last for generations.
