In June 2026, NICK BEENS STUDIO presented the LOKI STOOL during 3daysofdesign in Copenhagen as part of the DEORON exhibition.
For three days, Copenhagen became a meeting place for designers, makers, brands, galleries and design enthusiasts from around the world. Across the city, exhibitions, installations and conversations created an inspiring atmosphere where craftsmanship, material innovation and storytelling took centre stage.
For me, participating in 3daysofdesign was about more than presenting a product. It was an opportunity to share the story behind the LOKI STOOL, meet people from different backgrounds and exchange ideas with fellow designers, makers and industry professionals.
PRESENTING
Displayed as part of the carefully curated DEORON exhibition at Papirøen, the LOKI STOOL introduced visitors to my ongoing fascination with simplicity, craftsmanship and the emotional connection people build with objects over time.
One of the most rewarding aspects of the exhibition was hearing how people interpreted the piece. Some saw a practical stool, others a sculptural object. Many were curious about the story behind it and the places, memories and observations that shaped its design.
These conversations reminded me that the most meaningful objects are often the ones that create dialogue.
CONNECTION
Beyond the exhibition itself, the week was filled with inspiring encounters. From independent designers and journalists to manufacturers, retailers and curators, I met people who all shared a genuine passion for design and making.
Exploring showrooms and exhibitions throughout Copenhagen provided fresh perspectives on contemporary furniture, materials and collectible design. At the same time, it reaffirmed something I already strongly believe: thoughtful design is not only about aesthetics, but also about storytelling, craftsmanship and creating lasting connections between people and objects.
MILESTONE
This edition of 3daysofdesign was particularly memorable because I also celebrated my 33rd birthday during the event.
Being able to share my work internationally while marking this personal milestone made the week feel even more special. It was a moment to reflect on how far the studio has come since its restart in 2024 and to look ahead to future collaborations, projects and opportunities.
GRATEFUL
I am grateful to DEORON for the invitation and to everyone who stopped by, shared a conversation or took the time to experience the LOKI STOOL.
The experience created new connections, new ideas and renewed motivation to continue building NICK BEENS STUDIO through objects that celebrate craftsmanship, materiality and human connection.
Thank you, Copenhagen.
Until next time.
